Any chance of Melbourne, Australia as the cheapest place to live?

    What about Los Angeles?

Well, Sydney is expensive and it is especially so on housing here.

Ottawa Canada is the cheapest North American city in which to live at 122

The index complemented a quality of living survey done by the company in March. Together, they show Canada has a relatively affordable high quality of life.
"Canada and Australia have probably the nicest balance of the two – relatively low cost of living and pretty high quality of living," Mercer spokeswoman Danielle Buschen said.
Australia citys placed in the 60s

OVERALL - the cheapest citys were in Latin American, such cities there ranked near or at the bottom of the list, with 142-placed Buenos Aires still trying to recover from Argentina's 2002 monetary crisis. Asuncion in Paraguay was ranked least expensive.

Do those polls take into account the median pay in the area? I mean if it's expensive to live there sometimes the pay is also higher on average.

Come on - they would be stupid to live in Hull and pay the PQ taxes vs. ON taxes which are much lower. But they do have the better strip clubs over there..

Actually - I know a number of people living in Hull and commuting... A lot of your big ticket items are cheaper there (homes for one)...

(It was meant as a joke though...)
