I have been downloading some vids which are all XviDs, I then have been re-encoding as DVD compliant files and making DVDs. The last vid was not XviD but XSVCD! none of my software seems to like XSVCD.

How would one best go about re-encoding an XSVCD video to DVD??

Any decent encoding software should do it since it's MPEG-2 - TMPGEnc definitely will, but you might need a plugin to open it. Either that or run the file thru DVD2AVI, then load the d2v file into your encoder. You can then demux the audio, an re-encode that using ffmpeggui or similar.
    If in doubt, Google it.
