  1. I paid for it about a year ago,I really like the site and the News they report. So now no paid subscription.

    Some sites still require paid membership to watch certain video footage. But, when other sites continue to offer video footage free, it tends to make people gravitate their browsing habits toward those sites. I'll bet CNN saw their visitor counts go down as a result, making it harder for them to sell advertising on their site, so they dumped paid videos. Something like that only works if all the major players jump onboard in unison. That didn't happen.

  7. for a while there, CBSnews was the only one offering free news footage without commercials. They started it just after everyone else started charging
