Hi all
I'm selling my present PC complete with Pioneer 108 drive.
The question is do I stick with the 108 & buy a cheapie to stick in my old system or do I buy one of the following (which is available to me here in Spain):-
1. LG 4163 (€40)
2. NEC 3540 (€46)
3. BENQ 1620 (€42)
I would have considered the PIONEER 109 but I've seen too many bad things about it...
Or am I best waiting a month or so for a new model (e.g. the new BENQ drive...)???
Thanks for your input![]()

Stick with Pioneer if you want the highest playback compatibility on stand-alone DVD players.

Get the Benq, new or old version, and you will not find any problems.
Some days it seems as if all I'm doing is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic -
I meant to say that the reason why I wasn't keen on keeping the Pioneer 108 is that I'd really like a black burner (yes, pathetic I know).
I'd recently read good things about the LG drive...?
Also, I'm looking for good quality burns that will play on any standalone player... (most of my blank DVD's are -R but I don't mind changing my preference)
Thanks again -
I'm sure the Online store you may buy it from will also sell Black Face Plates.
