  1. I was just wondering which program you think is the best for burning an ISO file outputted from DVDShrink ?
Which burning software handles ISO image files the best, giving reliable results?

DVD Decrypter for me too. It gives actual burning speed results during the burn process, whereas Nero doesn't.

Either works fine from ISO files for me.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. DVDdecrypter all day long for me.
It seems to me that many people on here have had various issues when using Nero.

  8. Nero rarely fails with a burn. At least never did for me as yet.

laspis59, guess its all down to personal preference.

Try both dvd decrypter and nero, and use the one you're moe comfortable with.

DVD Decrypter > Nero, in my opinion.

No problems with Decrypter whatsoever. It is extremely user friendly, more importantly, it is FREE.

The latest version is 3.5.4 and there will be no further updates as the site is now closed, SAD day for all of us.

do you mean it shows you the actual burn speed as its burning? if so Nero can do that as well.
must admit i use Decrypter as much as i can

I will use either one, depending on what mood I'm in.

  13. I little while ago, before I started checking out which DVD+\-R media was the best to buy,I bought some Ridata 8x DVD-R's.Now I'm not sure whether my writer supported the Ridata discs.First of all I recoded the DVD I wanted to backup using CloneDVD(The software I used at the time, now I use DVDShrink)I burnt the DVD files using CloneDVD at 4x.The disc was totally unreadable.I then tried burning at 4x using DVDDecrypter. The disc was partly readable but would freeze up all the time.I then burnt the DVD files using Nero Burning ROM and the disc was totally readable,no problems at all.
This tells me that Nero must have the most powerful burning engine, even over DVDDecrypter.By the way I used to have a Lite-on DVD writer,I now have a LG GSA 4163B DVD RAM writer(Much better)

I now use Verbatim DataLife Plus DVD Media and can burn readable CD's and DVD's with all three of the programs I have mentioned.

Doesn't this tell you though that Nero is better at burning,if it was the only one that could produce a readable DVD that didn't freeze.
The only reason I started this topic is because a lot of people have complained that they have had problems with Nero and DVD Files and wondered whether I should switch to DVDDecypter for burning. But after what I have experienced something tells me that Nero is better at burning.

Are you talking single-layer or double-layer?

There is a simple registry tweak to get nero to show the actual burn speed. I know it works in 6.3.x.x and I am pretty sure it works in nero 6.6.x.x.

    Instructions:
    http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=51053

pages one and five are probably the most important. Page five confirms that the tweak works with Nero 6.6 versions. If you can not find the correct registry key mentioned, you may have to add it.

    This is totally faulty logic.
Whatever errors you have are entirely unrelated.

  19. What I'm saying may be a faulty way of thinking, but all I know is that Nero Burning ROM burnt a readable DVD-R,the others couldn't.
I cant quite understand how CloneDVD or DVDDecrypter failed where as Nero could produce the readable DVD-R This is what led me to believe Nero was better at burning, wouldn't most people think so if they had that experience.
Lordsmurf, how do you explain Nero creating a readable disc and the others failing to do so?
How can the errors be unrelated when I used the same DVD Writer?

Why do you say that? How do you know that?
Other people claim to have no problems with Nero and Image Files.
Could you explain,if you have the time.It will educate others also

I prefer dvddecrypter because Nero (5.5) doesn't like to produce iso files. Nero uses its own format which Daemon tools can open. If I need a compilation I create it with nero, then open with daemon tools and use dvddecrypter to create an iso or mds.
Also nero5.5 doesn't support an LG gsa4163b.(the real reason for all the shenanigans)

I hate to put this one back on topic but it is asking about burning an ISO Image created with DVDShrink.

    RTFQ, NOOBs !
    If in doubt, Google it.

When you name the file, just add the iso extension to it.
Least that's what I do with recode. Then I burn it with decrypter

  26. Every time I've gone the Folder2ISO route, burn with DVDDecrypter, I get a coaster.

Nero Burning ROM, I sometimes get sector mismatches, but rarely if ever a coaster.

    ???

Never tried Folder2ISO, but I often use imgtools classic for the same purpose with considerable success.
