  1. I tried to backup "Dances With Wolves" using Decrypter and Shrink to rip. Both failled unless I played the movie (only the first few seconds) first. Then there was no problems with either Decrypter or Shrink. I'm happy to have the backup but was curious as to what "changes" in the system when the movie is played that allows the rip to succeed?

    Hi,

    I have read about years ago, but as far as I can remember this has to "unlock" your DVD drive.

  4. Exactly my point leebo. Even more confusing (I think) is that the "error" happens in the middle of the disk (if I don't play it first). I'm wondering if its something special about Dances With Wolves (because it is so big)? Also, i forgot to mention that iso buster reported no problems reading the files.

    Are they definately the latest version of both programs ? Are you running older versions of any region free software ? Some older software used this trick to get the CSS key
