Just was curious...I have an option to upgrade all at once:
Tiger, QT7, and from FCP4.5 /DVDSP3 to FCP Studio
( minus Motion of course, my Dualie can't handle it).
And was curious how many of us stayed put,
    or "boldy went where
    no one has gone before".

I got the Tiger box right here, but I have to do some digital spring cleaning first. You know, backup, create free space, etc. So:

Missing option: Not yet, but soon.

  5. On on Tiger and QT7, but the Studio pro update is a bit pricey. Plus all those manuals to read. I'll wait until they make the movie.

Willrob, they give you two tutorial DVDs now, along with
the studio ( 7 DVDS) so you have a total of 9 DVDs to install.

My friend got his done today, and he is running 10.3.9, QT 7
Pro ( which FCS comes with a QT7 pro key), and although
it ate up a substanial portion of his Boot HD, i watched
him work in it for a few hours, and it worked pretty smoothly.

Tomorrow I decide if I get to plop down my cash
( I'll get an educational discount, but only if I buy
all Components)...And I'm just not sure about Tiger yet.....

Well, instead of upgrading. i decided to invest the money
into Hardware upgrades for now. Eventually I think
I will look into a new Mac, ( which would enable me
to install Motion) and do it then.

So now I'm off shopping for Ram and bigger HDs.

My friend upgraded his AVID to sit on Panther 3.9
but it messed up the EXTERNAL DRIVES!
but he's with TGPO back at 3.4 or 3.5 because it just didn't capture DVD to external drives properly.
If FIREWIRE works good under the new upgrade, then the app maay work too!

In my eyes x.3.4 works just fine. So no need to upgrade now.
