is there a program that will take the copy protected of the dvd so i can make a dvd back up?
will dvd x copy do this?

If space is at a premium, and you don't mind the extra wear and tear on your DVD drive, DVD Shrink can rip and compress at the same time. It does have problems with disks protected by the latest Sony protection though. If you take this approach, you only 5gb or there abouts.
