    high guys

i dl ed and ran IfoAR2WS....i navigated to the vts folder and clicked patch....it corrected 2 ifo files that were set for 4x3 but when i played it on my dvd player and a few others...it remained 4x3...i went to video settings in each one and set them for letterbox....no help...i ran a few other discs to check and they were letterboxed...i ran ifoar2ws again and the ifos were definitely reset for 16x9....

i did try it on ulead dvd player and it was 16x9.....

    strange....

Can you confirm that the 16:9 flag is set for the ifos in IfoEdit? (after IfoAR2WS has patched)

    looks ok i think

    under movie attributes it says
video mpeg-2 352x480 (NTSC) (NTSC 525/60) (16x9)(not specified perm display)

never worked on an ifo before

well i think the issue here is that you have a half-d1 title and according to the DVD specs half d1 can't be 16:9

    From https://www.videohelp.com/dvd:

If you reconvert you will need to reauthor too. At which point you can set to 16:9 anyway.

Yes you will loose lots of quality. HalfD1 is usually used when you have a low bitrate in the first place.

My advice would be to leave as is and just bare in mind this for next time.
