  1. i downloaded a dvd movie and it plays on powerdvd fine (i know it's a dvd because it has the video_ts folder), but i'm unale to burn it.

using clonedvd 2, i get the following message when i try to open the video_ts folder: "error opening video files from dvdmanager 5 7 ifoformat 22"

i wanted to try my luck, so i tried to burn it using nero (which warned me that the files aren't dvd-compliant), but as expected, it didn't play on my dvd player.

is there anyway to fix this? i was thinking about converting the supposedly dvd movie to, say, xvid then convert back to dvd such that it is completely dvd-compliant.

  2. i've been trying to deal with the same error myself .thats why i'm here.I used clone dvd and got the same error. I typed in my error (dvdmanager 5 7 ifoformat 22) and I found this site....Anyways I think I've found where my problem is in the file(s)It's in the vts 5 04 part of the actual movie. The person who posted this dvd wasn't taking any chances(getting in crap!)and made sure it wasn't gonna be mass produced. I've tried tons of tools on this thing and I can't seen to "fix" it. However, I burned it with Nero (with warnings )and the movie Plays fine>as for the rest of the dvd(menus, extra features )don't. I bought a dvd player from Best Buy(plug not intended) that cost me $50.It plays everything compared to my $500 jobby I bought four years ago.So if you"re happy with just the movie It should work on some dvd players.Buy a Noma(plug not inteded.) Progressive scan dvd player for $50 and try your luck(if its worth it to ya.)

Is there any reason why you guys are using CloneDVD to burn this ???
Plain old Nero or RecordNow or IMGTools/DVDDecrypter can do the job for you also.

It could well be that that particular file is corrupted. Try double-clicking on that file to get whatever DVD software you have on your computer to play it. See if it plays right through. If not, the file is corrupted.

More likely they fooked up somewhere. Is it commercially available or a home movie ?

It might be an idea to do Movie only. Either that or salvage what you can of the extras and create your own menus using something like TMPGEnc DVD Author.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. no..The movie isn't mass prduced At least mine anyways unless you want to count Movie theatres. But this little puppy is the actual Dvd that would be avaliable in stores..say a year from now>Thats why i'm not complaining .I just wanted buddy to know(davec) that if he tried a differentdvd player it might do the trick. My Sony wont play But my Noma... makers of Christmas lights plays every thing I throw at it>As for clone dvd ..its a region code thing. but I realize now nero works just as well> I also use the same things that you suggest(dvd decrypter and shrink and such... they're all great

I would be very careful in discussing something that is unreleased and more than likely copyrighted here.

If the file is corrupted (and I think it is), it won't matter which DVD palyer you put it in.

I don't understand. There are many other ways to get rid of the region codes. Each to their own though

    @dave_c:
Do you just want the main movie ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. downloading is an ugly sport

  7. I purchased the new movie Are We There Yet and wanted to make a backup copy in case the original gets damagaed and CloneDVD comes up with an error message that it can't read as certain VOB file. I did notice that on the DVD there is a .EXE file. Is that some kind of security stop to not allow copying of this certain DVD? Is there another way I can make a copy of this from the original DVD?

    Thanks for your time..

  8. It could be the new protection system being applied to some new DVD's, though not certain.
Try reading the disc with the latest version of DVDdecrypter and see what results you get.
The latest version can decrypt the new protection system.
