XviD will never support menu's. It is just a video codec. Menus are upto the container.

i belive so with divx. i am hoping future dvd plays may support it or even xbmc (xbox media centre)

i do not know of any players that can. you need to download special codec ect from the website to even view it on your pc. but once you do it has full menus just like a dvd

Menus is DivX is a container, not a codec. Should be perfectly possible to have XviD in a .divx container with a menu.
The .divx container is based on or rather a hack of the avi container.
Don't think any current firmwares for players support .divx menus. But DXN I believe said that all DivX certified devices will eventually support them via firmware updates.
