I notice in National Treasure, theres 2 main movie titles, but from what I previewed they look exactly the same. Also in Jackie Brown there were something like 4-5 different main movie titles, all the same from what I saw. Does anyone know why? Is choosing one title good enough? or which title should I choose?

Disks will sometimes contain alternate version's of the same movie. You can't go wrong chosing version #1.

  3. If you are unsure of which title you want, just play your DVD in your software player and look at your player's Title display.

Usually this happens because the DVD has alternate title and/or credit sequences for additional languages. If you are in region 1 then the first one should be English which I assume is what you want.

You can confirm this by playing the DVD and selecting a different language for the main audio. Now play the movie and most likely the credits will be in that language instead.

Thanks for the suggestions, i look out for those when I come across them again. I dont think it was widescreen fullscreen versions, b/c those movies i tried dont have fullscreen, and in the preview it wasnt fullscreen. But the different language credits may be what it was. I'll have to check again

  7. If you had a fullscreen and widescreen versions on your DVD, DVD Shrink would show them uncombined. If you had a theatrical and extended version, they would be showing combined since they are re-using the same cells and are in the same VTS. Fullscreen and widescreen versions will always be separate VTSs since the VTS IFO can dictate one aspect ratio. There is no way to toggle between them if they were in separate PGCs in the same VTS.

If you are referring to Region 1 National Treasure, it doesn't have widescreen and fullscreen. If fact if you did, you'll most likely have a pop-up menu to choose between them.
