  1. Hi

    I need your help.

How can I backup a DVD to DVD and add non-removable closed captions ?

    Is this possible ?

    Thanks in advance

To begin with, what is a "non-removeable closed caption"? Closed captions are hardcoded on line 21 of the vertical retrace interval, and are enabled by turning on the internal decoder in the TV. Once there, they are "non-removeable".

To add these to your backup, you'll have to reauthor the disk (plus, you'll have to create the closed captions yourself).

Or, do you mean that you want to hard code in a subtitle stream?

I'm guessing he wanted subtitles that can't be removed. Y'know, a minor variation on the "how do I copy-protect my pirated DVD's" question.

  9. WIsh I knew, maybe they want open captions, not closed captions, which arent the same as subs. You can make closed captions into open captions.

  10. Well ... now I´m trying this way:

I am using WinDVD (supports closed captions ) to watch a movie.

I need closed captions. They are correctly displayed on the monitor.

    Question:

Is it possible to simultaneously ( at the same time that I watch the film ) burn the movie with my dvd recorder and maintain / include the closed captions ?

    Thanks in advance

  11. Nope, it would see you were trying to copy a commercial dvd & not let you.

Why don't you just copy it with dvdshrink? It keeps the closed captions.
