  2. DVDAuthorGui can do it. I wouldnt recommend doing it btw, a PAL/Ntsc conversion would be better.

  4. I think DVD-Lab would allow you to do this, but it is not standard and some (many?) DVD players will refuse to play part or even all of such a disk.
If its just for your own use, that may not be a problem.

  5. thanks for answers.
i'm thinking of just reencoding one of them.
the quality is not great just now so not too bothered if i lose a little more.
what is better, converting ntsc to pal or pal to ntsc?
would there be major problems or just a decrease in quality?

  6. In general it would be best to convert the PAL one to NTSC-Film by slowing down the framerate, unless the NTSC file is Film, then you can speed up that one to PAL framerate instead.
It also depends on the length of these two videos, i would use NTSC-Film at low bitrates, mainly because the 20% lower resolution will give less visible macroblocks. Half-D1 PAL would also be a good alternative if the videos are kinda long, much faster to encode also =)

Zak_swan, I'm curious as to what you did and what were the results because I have the same situation.

  9. I think you'll find the only problem with PAL and NTSC on one disc is that each has to have it's own VOB file, according to the DVD Video spec. You can't mix the content in a single VOB.

Whether or not your TV / projector / plasma etc can display both is another matter...
