    When I play a movie be it an xvid divx mpg wmv it will have a tendency to stutter some or stop for a sec or 2 or even longer and then it will continue. I us bsplayer to play my vids back and have tried it in windows media player and get the same thing.

    I am using winxp pro don't have many codecs installed. I run an athalon xp 2800 with 1gb of ram ti6200 256mb gigabyte agp 8x card.

    What do you have running in the background? Any antivirus programs or P2P apps?

    I have a similar problem where the audio will stutter, no matter the format I'm playing back. However, I have over a dozen programs running in the background and I think that might have something to do with it.

    Even though, I don't remember having this problem until I installed SP1 for Windows Server 2003.

    BTW, I've found that eMule, at least on this computer, causes this problem more than most other programs.

    Well I got tired of trying to find a solution so I just did a reinstall. All is better now.

    i'm having the same problem too. the movie stop for like 2 sec and continue playing again......it was fine playing dvd from the hard drive before.
