  1. Hi!

The GS400 has now arrived and I'm more than satisfied. In normal light conditions the picture is even more than broadcast quality! I'm just having a question to other GS400 owners about the zoom. When having the camera in PAUSE while in TAPE CAMERA mode, when pressing the zoom switch to the very end, it like zooms very fast. But when beginning recording, the fast zooming becomes unavailable. Is there any way to get rid of this strange behaviour or is it normal? If, then any idea why?

    Thanks a lot!!

When recording, fastest zooms can be done manually on the ring. Slowest zooms (creeping) can be done on the zoom rocker. Try twisting the ring quickly and you should be able to zoom from full wide to tele in under 1 sec.

The GS400 is a very good camera but it has its quirks.

  3. Thanks, but this doesn't seem to help in my case. For some reason, I still can't get faster zoom even if rotating the ring as fast as hell Min. 3-4 sec from Wide to Tele or vica versa... Any ideas? Not that I need the fast zoom, but just so curious why it's messing this way.

    P.S.

What are the other quirks you would mention?

I guess that now that you have the GS400, you need to be a member of this forum: www.pana3ccduser.com

Ask your question there. If they can't answer you, then your camera is SPECIAL.

There is also a reset hole on the camera that you might try to use. It will reset all your menu settings to factory default but if the zoom problem you have is just corrupted data, then it should clear that and you should have no problem afterwards.
