Okay, so I'm beyond new to making DVD's, but I really want to figure out what the hell I'm doing. I've got a series of avi files with screen sizes of 640x320, Adobe Encore 1.5, and a dual-platform memorex DVD burner.

My Encore says that the current screen size of the avi files is too small, but I can't find a program that will "bump up" the size to fit 720x640 like needed. Help please?

Okay, I followed all the instructions through step 2, but when I hit "start" in TMPGEnc, I get an error message saying

"For encode mode, 3:2 pulldown when playback cannot be used if flame rate is not 23.976 fps or 24 fps."

    ?

  4. Go into advanced settings, and select Interlaced, instead of 3:2 pulldown.
If you're using the wizard, DO NOT select NTSC FILM.

The prefered method is to open the avi files usin virtualdub .
Goto audio settings , full processing mode , conversion to 48,000 .
    Save audio as wav .

Then choice that audio as the audio stream you want .
Goto video filters , add resize , resize too what you need .

Then frameserve to bbmpeg and check the settings here for the required output .

The output you choose must match the video size input of bbmpeg will complain .

Simple and FREE , then do what you like with your new mpegs ...

    PS : 720x "640" What the ? , nope , that just dont work ...

Pal 720x576 , yes , what you had as the second number will never work .

Vitualdub also includes a framerate changer as well , and if you is doing 720x576 , which is pal , then it is 25fps .

Whether virtualdub is acurate here I can not say , everything else is perfect .

And I'll mention ulead videostudio (the first and last time I will refer to any bought products) .

It can encode to avi or mpegs and modify the video bitrate perfectly .

I use it for all my conversions of game previews to pal 25fps , and there has never been any audio sync issue's .

Well, it's all up and running, and it's my mistake, the screen resolution is 720x480, which is what I needed.

But now, I'm in Encore, both the audio and vidoe files are there...but how do I link them together to play together and connect them to the menus?

By reading the help files and learning how the applications works. How can you spend so much money buying Encore, and not want to take the time to learn it ? If you want instant results (as instant as encoding can be) ise DivxtoDVD and live without menus. If you want to make DVDs, put some effort into it yourself. Happy to help when you get stuck, but not to hold your hand simply because you won't try yourself first.

Whoa, now. I didn't mean to offend or come off like a complete idiot in the ways of creation, but the ways I knew how to put things together in Adobe Encore aren't working with now a video file and then a seperate audio file. Nothing in the help menu or that I can find online is telling me the difference between VOB error's and how to spill this thing into a single file that I can link directly from my menu. So, as is my way in life, if you don't know, ask. And all of you have been a fantastic help with my little projects and helping me figure out the different aspects of DVD Authoring (which is a larger leap from Graphic Design then I initially thought). I've been learning as much as possible for a good month now, but lacking some of the actual video content to really see what I can come up with. So, I'm using these smaller screen files and running into problem after problem, which brings me here, where you guys have more information about how to do things than I thought were possible.

Many apologies. And thanks again for the help already given.
