In Canada, I see only NEC 3520, no 3520A.

When I bought my 2 at newegg I think I remember it saying the letter refered to the color of the faceplate and the drives were the same.

i just picked one up today(i'm in toronto) and it is a 3520a, silver front and i believe all the colours were 3520a

My standard white fronted one is also an A so it isn't the colour. Possibly the A is the non-riplocked version for the rest of the world and the straight 3520 is the riplocked one for the US.

Q: There are different letters added onto the end of NEC model names, are these drives different?
A: No, they are all exactly the same! For example; NEC 3500A, 3500AG, 3500AS, 3500AB are all the same drive! Some online stores add extra letters onto the end of the model name to signify different options such as color and bulk version, but the hardware is exactly the same! -
HatchetMan - I hope that the less expensive drive was the one that came with Roxio ... I'd pay at least $7 more not to receive the Roxio s/w!
