  1. First let me say that I purchased the full version of SVCD2DVD v2 and the
program/execution is great. I've tried Xilisoft and several others,
yours is the best of the bunch in it's class.

    A couple of questions:

    First the statement...
"AVI files can be used as assets. They will be encoded to FULL resolution DVD mpgs.
    Thus a 700MB avi will become a 3GB+ mpeg."

The question is when you use the "Auto Fit" option for an AVI(s) is the resulting DVD quality reduced? If there is, could you put some kind of "Quality Loss" indicator. I ask because I put 4 DivX AVI files (785MB each) onto one DVD and I can't see any degradation.

Another question; Is there anyway to redo just the DVD menu without having to process the video files again? I understand the whole DVD would have to be burned again.

Adding a "Play All" Button to the DVD Menu adds a small collapsed button
in the upper left corner. The handles appear but the button cannot be resized.

Can you add text (not associated with the movies) to a menu from within the product? Currently I add text to the background using Photoshop.

A slight problem with the built in video player/image graber. Sometimes all
the player buttons disappear, Play, Pause, Stop, FR, FR, Grab Image all of them.

Could someone post a downloadable avi/avi's, Mpeg or BIN/CUE that could be
used as a zero point benchmark for speed?

    Other than that...
    Thanks for a great program

There was talk about adding a bitrate indicator before the processing started.... As a rule of thumb anything over 3000 is good. (you see the value in the log window)

reuse the _S2D files - this way no reprocessing will take place.

Change your default menu font in the setttings.

Not a priority for me at the moment but it is on the todo list (near the bottom!)

This has been flagged by others too. I have not seen this happen myself but hopefully updating the toolbar component in the next build will resolve it.

Not a bad call. I shall collate some samples and then ask people to do some speed tests on different spec PCs.... Are you concerned about the speed of SVCD2DVD?

  3. Thanks for your prompt reply and all the info.

I'm am very happy with the speed, no problems here. I saw where some others thought they were having speed issues. A standardized AVI/BIN in addition to the hardware profile would eliminate any future issues.

    Thanks

I love the program and the only minor change I'd like is "Different Colors" for the progress bar. Mine is Blue with Black % Numbers. The black numbers are very had too see on the blue (I know you know approx by the length of the bar).

I have experimented with all sorts of combinations. Perhaps you could knock something up (e.g an image) and post it for me to see if it is any better? Bare in mind that you need the text colout to be visible over both blue & grey (or whatever you colours are)

How about reducing the size of the Processing Bar area and show the % Completed to the Right. That way color would not matter and you'd always be able to see the % completed clearly.
