    i used to have a Lite-On 16X LTD-166S but my brother broke it. i was wondering if anybody knows of a dvd rom the rips dvds fast.

    Most will, once you update the firmware to remove riplocks. Even my burner rips at better than 11x (disk permitting) now that the riplock is gone.

    Tell your Dad to make your brother buy you a new one. Liteons rip fast, although the fastest that I've heard of is the Aopen 1648.

    I have a cheapie BTC brand 16X DVD-ROM that rips *slowly*, 2X maximum.
    Anyone have an idea where I can find a link to get a rip-lock removed
    firmware flash for the drive?
