Ok, I need a new drive and was going to pick between these 2. I usually buy Pioneer products (have a 108 now and a 106 before that), but I thought I would go and try a different brand this time.
From what I can tell both of these drives perform quite well, does anyone have any caveats about either one of them? plus's or minus's?
TIA

NEC easily. Liteon DVD burners aren't near as good as their CD burners are, they aren't that good. The one small advantage that Liteons had was PI/PO testing, but that is now available with the NEC 3520 anyway.

ok, thanks...any reason then that I shouldn't just go with ole faithful and get the pioneer 109 over the nec?

I'd take the NEC over the Pioneer, plus it's cheaper. My NEC burners have been outstanding.

Don't buy the 109 it has many problems I have had the 107 and 108 and they were good the 109 just doesn't compare and they have been slow about updating the firmware
