  1. I'm pretty new to this so sorry if my questions seem dumb

I want to convert/encode an AVI file to DVD. There are 3 DVD formats to choose from - DVD lo, DVD ffmpeg and DVD mpeg2enc. My questions relate to the last 2 (although I'd appreciate knowing what DVD lo is and when it's appropriate to use it!)

When I use the DVD mpeg2enc format, I end up with 3 files: an .ac3, an .m2v and a Quicktime file along with a .mpg.DVD folder that contains an Audio_TS and a Video_TS folder. If I want to burn a DVD in Toast, which of those files do I move into the Toast window. I know it isn't the Quicktime movie because if I do that, Toast will just reencode everything all over again.

When I use the DVD ffmpeg format, I get the same .mpg.DVD folder and also 3 files only this time they are a .mpv file, a .mpg file and the same .ac3 file. Which of those would be the right one to use for burning in Toast?

Also, is it OK to trash any files I'm not using to burn? And is one format better than another?

Thanks for the help...I will get better at this.

    Beth
