What's odd is...normally my NEC ND-3500 reads everything fine and dandy (especially if it's scanned well with kprobe.)

However, the recent batch of Ricohjpn (fujifilm 4x +R) was quite wierd..

Burned at 12x on my 3500, they scanned great, in DVDInfo/CDSpeed/KProbe. Same with 8x, and 4x burns.

Burned at 4x/8x on my Liteon, scans great with DVDInfo/CDSpeed/KProbe.

(I always use the 3500 for CDSpeed / DVDInfo, and obviously the liteon for KProbe)

Well.. I burned a disc at 8x in my NEC ND-2500 at 8x. It failed to verify, so I decided to definately scan this one. (normally do anyways with first disc type burns on a burner).

With DVDInfo / DVDSpeed..I've never seen a stranger scan, that successfully completes. Here are the pictures.

    And DVDSpeed....

What makes this wierd...is the KProbe is **awesome**... Here is the pic..

Now, I admit that my NEC 3500 isnt the best reader...But I know it can read the discs no prob..even burned at 12x..yet these 8x burns on a 2500 are all very similar to these scans...and especially with such a great kprobe.

Heh...I'm not asking for a solution, or help etc.. Just thought this to be a wierd little experience I thought I'd share.

  2. These are great discs (RICOHJPN R01), probably the BEST discs I've ever used. Taiyo Yuden may have slightly lower PI/PO numbers on average but I've had a few coasters with TY media, I've never gotten any coasters with these discs. I've used alot of these in both TDK branded and Ridata branded varieties and they've always been awesome discs at both 4x and 8x on my NEC 1300, NEC 2500, and Benq 822.

Here's a typical scan, a 4x burn on my Benq 822. Great PO numbers and VERY low Jitter levels as well. 4x and 8x burns on all 3 of my +R burners result in similar PI/PO numbers to these:
