ok people please forgive me if this is a stupid question.

i have tried reading the forums and help guides but there seems to be so many out there i am not sure which 1 to choose.

i want to be able to convert my DVD and or episode DVD to xvid.

is there a best option or does it really matter.

i have tried a couple of programs but they wanted the dvd ripped in ifo mode
and i have always done file mode.

or is there anyway to fix that.

than also does anyone know how to take just 1 episode out of a dvd

    any help is appreciated.

    thank you

    fairuse wizard or autogk.

and it would help if you told us what you have tested. if you ripped all vob, ifo, bup files you should be able just to select that folder and convert it with autogk or fairusewizard.

    thanks for answering right away.

i tried autogk but it said it needed the dvd ripped in ifo mode.
and i had rippied it in file mode. and i select all with default settings.
    dvd decrypter.

the error i got was for autogk was unable to parse input directory.

i also tried simple divx. gui4ffmpeg, Gordian Knot

but the quality suked even with default settings but i am probably doing something wrong.

    thanks

  6. is it better to use many little progs?? Well .. its like this... a manual gearchange car, can, in theory, accelerate faster than an automatic, but in practice most people arent good enough drivers.. so let the programs do the work .. you wont get 100% quality but you will get a consistent 97% ... which do you prefer ? consistency or occasional perfection(?), control or ease-of-use
