I captured a musical cassette from a hi-fi unit to a pc using Total Recorder 5.1. I connected a cable from the headphones hub on the hi-fi unit to the line-in plug on the sound card.
Sound captured onto a wav file comes out fine except that there is a regular short hiss every 65 seconds which covers the sound of the music. I did a recording with three different pieces of music from the same tape and obtained the same result. It’s always a cycle of 65 seconds.
When you listen to the tape directly on the hi-fi, it's perfect.
I'll probably be switching to Goldwave but I was interested to know what was wrong.

Might be due to a built in "cripple" of the unregistered version of total recorder.
