Poineer DV-525 Region Hack at el

I got an DVD from outside which cannot be played in my Poineer DV-525 player complaining abour wrong region code. Does anyone know how to get around with this model.

If not, which DVD-ROM would you suggest to buy for my PIII 866 MHz computer to rip the DVD? Hope computer DVD-ROM does not have region code problem.

I've got the Pioneer 525, but i've not had a single Region Problem with it, as far as I know, because it's an old model dating prior to January 1st 2000, it has no region coding.
So there would propably be no Region Hacks, none that I know of anyway.

As for PC, I'd Highly recommand the Pioneer 106/116 drives, as there are Region Free firmwares for them, and they also the best and cheapest drives you can find, and they rip pretty fast!

Thanks for the recommendation. But it's just not true for the region free part about DV-525 since I put the DVD disc in and it pops right up and it says on my TV screen that it's the wrong region code. I didn't have problems with any other DVD discs since they are mostly from here anyway.

I couldn't find the region hack for DV-525. I got a DVD-116 ROM, put the region free firmware in and plays well. I got some error in the system event saying the driver detected a controller error on cdrom0 (event 11). I am running windows 2000. I wonder if it's the firmware problem. Anybody see the same thing?

Regarding the DV-525, as I own one myself (3 years old) I have no region problems, and I played so far: Region 1, 2 and 4
Maybe because mine was bought in Israel it is Region Free, and yours was bought in the US, so they put regions on it.

As for the PC, you could try reflashing, there are tools for the Pioneer to do the flashing IN windows so you don't need to boot up to a DOS mode, if you dont have them, i'll send you the link.
