I've seen people mention players with PUO disabled here a few times, I was hoping somebody could name a model or two.
Longshot: don't suppose there's a hack/firmware for the DVP 642...![]()

I don't know of any 642 bottom up firmware, just modified to add a little subtitle support.
All I can think of is that you can run your DVD's through DVD Decrypter and use the options to remove the PUO's, and then reburn it using something like DVD Shrink. -
Some older Apex players had hacked firmware that disabled Prohibited User Operations checks. I no longer recommend Apex players as it seems to me that it's becoming harder to get modified firmware for their players and their players are being left behind in terms of functionality. If you really want to look into this, http://www.nerd-out.com/darrenk has some old Apex firmware.
