A quick question on transfering VHS-DVD; I'm using a Vidicraft Proc Amp and just acquired a DetailerII, but of course it isn't working (no output when connected to the Proc Amp). I was hoping to compare the outputs with and without the Detailer, but since that's going to require a puchase of another unit, hopfuly working this time, I was wondering if it's worth the hassle of trying to find one that works.
Also, any source for schematics on the older Vidicraft hardware? Maybe this thing can be saved...
    Thanks for any input.
    Equipment:
    Mitsubishi HS-U790, HS-U781
    Vidicraft Proc Amp
ATI AIW 9800Pro in an IDEQ 200N/2.14GHz
    NEC 3500+ DVD writer,
Needed: TBC or digital video stabilizer, Detailer(?)

OK, that didn’t work. Here’s the problem. I now have a Vidicraft Detailer II that I bought off Ebay and surprise, surprise, it doesn’t work. I connected the Vidicraft Proc Amp to the Detailer and there’s no signal out, black screen. Connecting in reverse order doesn’t change the output. The Proc Amp works fine, and the controls modify the signal output pretty well.
I opened up the Detailer II and found two bare wires near the RCA Output jacks that were not connected to anything. I have no clue as to what to connect these wires to as there are no empty connections near them.
So, to the point; Is there a source for a schematic for the Detailer II? I know, out of business for years, but if there’s a chance…
Or better yet, Could someone snap a digi-pic of the inside of a Detailer II, focused at the back of the circuit board near the RCA jacks? Or I can snap a pic of the area and someone could tell me where the wires go or the component that’s missing?
Either that or I buy another unit and take it apart to find the problem, then try to sell one of them.
Thanks for any help at all!

  3. Have you tried contacting anyone at Sign Video. If I'm not mistaken they're the same guys that made the Vidicraft stuff.??

Thanks for the tip. I tried Sign Video but saw nothing on the older equipment. I got lucky and found another Detailer II on Ebay for $10. It's on the way, so hopefully between the two Detailers and some solder I can get one working unit. Hopefully...
