Wonder who in VHOT might be interested in going?

    Jedis Get Special Sci-Fi Camp

INDIANAPOLIS – A Star Wars-filled world isn’t a galaxy far far away any more: A tourism company has just announced a sci-fi themed camp to satisfy Jedi fantasies.

Beyond Boundaries Travel announced today (Apr. 21) at the Star Wars Celebration III convention in Indianapolis, the launch of Sci-Fi Fan Trips, which is similar to space camp for sci-fi fans.

Jeannie Barresi, the founder of Beyond Boundaries Travel, says they can’t call it Star Wars because of copyright laws, but she says the camp will have elements from Star Wars movies which will appeal to fans, like laser weaponry training – not light sabers – and Galactic “Speeder” races – not pod races.

They’ll also have Star Wars novelists as guest lecturers.

But classic sci-fi fans haven’t been squeezed out: They’ll also be having a robot building contest, and a film festival of cheesy 1950 sci-fi movies.

The camp runs from Oct. 26 to 31.
