  1. I looked through the list of DVD players for TV, not looking for anything fancy, bought an Apex (Similiar to Cyber) & it was dead before 45 days.

Looked at the Pioneer DV-464, looked great on reviews, if you live on some other Land-Mass other than the USofA. So, can anyone at all suggest a DVD player that can actually be bought in the USofA, that works with DVD -R/+R, MP3 -I'm interested in something that can play both burned DVD's (I don't care about DVD RW) and rented. The Apex was a nitemare for anything, waste of money.

There are just too many players on the market & I'm yet to find a buy in America, that most people are happy with, for under or around $100. Some do -R ok & others +R, MP3's ~Seems like a Big Hole in general for something that actually works!

Need some brand names that can be relied on & bought in America? I'm tired of looking at high priced & useless players. Need some help on something that WORKS, Ta.

    Cheers

  3. Thanks, I see Newegg has this...Kudo's Darn cheap, too @ $29. It seems too good to be true (That always bothers me). But I'm buying it & we will see

Strange though, as you have the sony 400 DVD Changer. Are you sure the player you recommended works?

if you need one to play MP3's on a DVDR i would take a dvdr with Mp3's on it to the store and try it out before you buy

make sure it does random play cause you dont want to listen to the same sequence of 1000+ songs

  5. It's a bit late, Sifaga I have already ordered the "Quoted" player, so RMaddog better have had some experience on the suggestion

Guess my point is, recommendations comes from usage, not from 'guessage' There are a million reviews out there, that's why people depend on a recommendation from people that use the product. Not a bad idea though, Sifaga

  6. Figured It was worth commenting on the Norcent Ultra Slim DVD Player, Model DP-312, Retail. Cheap player and that's pretty much what you get.

Upside: Plays DVD+R, DVD-R & MP3's -Although there was no problem with Ridata +&-, It would not play Verbatim -R.

Downside:- If surround sound is enabled on the TV the music runs at around 80db and the conversations at around 15db -Intolerable and took awhile to figure out how to fix that.

Time for any physical switch process, on or off and eject...takes what seems like forever, though a little over one minute to respond, same with the remote. Slight work around with the remote, hit the desired button twice in quick sucsession to get the dang thing playing sooner than a minute (Don't hit more than twice, because it will sit ther trying to figure out what to do) and don't expect any features to work aside Pause or slow forward. Incremental simply won't work.

A minute does not sound long, but let me tell you It's a complete frustration. On the other hand it sorta works, as a DVD player.

    Cheers
