    G’day all.
Could any one help me block Spams on AOL Browser. I have tried the host file but it won’t work on those. I have tried per “site privacy action” >manage sites” but it wont accept addresses without “www*****.com”. Is there any way to beat the annoying junk mail.
    Thank you for any help.

Yes, there is. Dump AOL and get an ISP that lets you use Outlook or other decent mail software that has customizeable email filters. And never, ever, go into an AOL chat room. That's the reason you get so much spam.

  3. I don't use AOL (way too proprietary junk) but I thought they're big marketing ploy was free spam blocker?! You saying it doesn't work?

  4. I would ditch AOL.

However, if you do use AOL you still don't have to use their browser.
Log on via AOL and then use your own browser (i.e. firefox).

I second that. AOL is the worst when it comes to this.
    Thanks Mike

    Thanks guys.
I am using FF browser and it's great, but I use AOL for e-males only. Would you recommend a safe e-mail program to switch to.
    Thank you for replying

I use outlook express, and McAfee spam blocker. But there is one thing I don't like. Theres new updates every 15 minutes (several a day at anyrate), way to much for me. So would say keep looking.
    Thanks Mike

    AFAIK, both still free.
