I can't wait for this to come out. I've seen one of the trailers and I think they've done a good job. 8)

It also looks like they've only done the storyline of the first book though. I'm a fan of the whole 5 book series and books 3 & 4 have some really funny stuff in them. Guess I'll have to wait for the sequel.

(I like the Marvin bot in the English series better also. This one looks too cute.)

It has Martin Freeman from The Office so I'm excited to see him in a big role again.

The planet of the machines footage looks great!

Got to love "the guide". Glad the director put the
guide scenes back in. Check out the 3rd trailer re: voice overs... ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stephen Fry is an interesting choice for the guide. bit too irreverent IMO. pick up the book and the cover says "The Gay-Hikers-Guide to the Galaxy"

Not happy with the marvin look either, although anything is an improvement on the silver painted cardboard box in the BBC series....

  12. I am glad they are making this movie, it is my favorite book and Douglas Adams was a genius (may he rest in peace).

However I have been greatly disapointed in the trailers. I suspect this will only be mediocre. While I TREMENDOUSLY like how they did the Vogons, other things anoy me.

I do not like how they did Zaphod. Instead of two heads, they have only one that basically "flips" to a new face. Also, Marvin seems all shiny and new. I always pictured him as a worn out bucket of bolts. And overall I got the feeling they showed the only good parts in the movie (granted for only a few seconds but still)

All in all, I am going to be one of the first in line, but I think this may be one of those that carries its popularity in name only.

So what have we learned? Never forget your towel.
