how to remove commercials with the ILO DVDRHD04..

before i say anything make sure you press the target button and make sure it says HDD on the screen.

1.turn on the ilo dvdhd04

2.press BROWSER on the REMOTE

3.go to the video you want in the broweser menu.

4.with the video highlighted press the EDIT button on the remote.

5.press PLAY to start the process now fastforward to the part in the edit menu where the commercial is about to begin then press STOP on the remote.

6.now to the right you will see rename""protection""insert chapter ETC.

7.choose SPLIT to split up the video from the commercial.

8.now fastforward to the ending of the commercial just before the show comes back on so that all you see is the commercial itself.

9.now click SPLIT to remove the commerial from the video.

10.now go back into the BROWSER by pressing it on the remote.

11.go to the commercial you just removed now press edit on it and ERASE it.

12.press BROWSER again this time find the video you splitted the first time now press EDIT on it..

13.to right of the video in the edit mode you will see MERGE WITH click it and merge it with the video you splitted earlier.

thats all their is to it to removing commercials with this awesome dvd recorder.

i couldnt find anything in the manual that refers to removing commercials all you can do is split up the video and remerge the parts you want..

its confusing at first you tinker with it on the unimportant stuff when youve got the hang of it you will find it very useful..

i hope this will help some of the ILO users out there..

this also works for DVD+RW's too if your used to doing it that way but doing editing thru the HDD is alot faster and less wear and tear on your expensive burner in the ilo DVDRHD04..
