hello, i'm new here and i have a problem, i had a 1 hr clips from my favorite tv shows and i would like to put a subtitle on it . i search everywhere how to do it but all the response was programs which do don't fit to my needs. i just wanna ask how to subtitles. i know a program like subtitle workshop, subtitle creator but all seems to be impossible to do it. for instance, if you have 40 mins clip. you need to play that and when the conversation begun you need to pause it and type what they are saying which is time consuming .so it is very very hard to do such thing. may i know, if there is program that is needed for this thing

You must type the subs manually. You can also try search for subs on the net, www.extratitles.to

Well, I guess that you can wait for the voice recognition software that does the typing for you.

Either that, or marry a court stenographer who can type the audio "live", then convert these to subtitles.

    - Yes, it is, but not too hard....otherwise no one would do it. I used DVD Architect to set subtitles in English, French and Brazilian Portuguese to 5 files, each one about 30 minutes. That was difficult but DVD Architect helped a lot. Download the trial at Sony's.
