And
I surfed over to www.dvdrhelp.com this morning and noticed that they are now charging a $20 per year subscription to view their site. Hopefully this is an April Fools joke to get some much needed donations, but I doubt it.
They just shot themselves in the foot. My guess is that their user base will drop by 90% with this new subscription policy. -
Nope, was not fooled at all.

The Internet costs $$$ and not everything is "free" like the typical net nerd thinks.
Anyway ... I know a LOT of people fell for it.:P

Nope. Had links directly to the fourms and I would of gotten the same message. Unless your realy poor web site writers and we all know thats not true.

Not I, but then again I had just visited a few sites before that were saying they had been hacked as a April Fool's joke, so I was kinda prepaired already.
And as far as *I* am concerned, just cause $ was mentioned does *NOT* n-sin-u-wait that Baldrick, vidhelp, nor anyone associated with the site is sublim'n you in to donating.
It's there if you would like to contribute, but I don't think that was the intention, twas a joke people

Hah! I SHOULD have caught on, since there was NO sort of advance notice posted, but I expected that a site this extensive would one day require a switch to a subscriber-based business model, so I got horn-swoggled. In my defense, though, I would like to add that it seemed pretty plausible at the time, I was wrapped up in the Schiavo news, the Jackson trial testimony was too riveting, and the Pope's condition was continuing to deteriorate...am I off the hook yet?

I freaked!!!!
I thought that maybe the free ride was over..
Definately food for thought though...
Good one -
Not for a minute
When I was a mod here I read the mod forum archives from previous April fool's pranks both achieved and planned and I know what a prankster Baldrick is. 8)
Still a good one!You caught a few with it

Nope but only because when I logged in here I had to log out to take care of something. By the time I got back to my computer it was gone.

I didn't fall for the intended joke, but I did think the site had been hacked.
What worries me is how many have said they we're ready to send their card numbers. Imagine if it had been hacked!I don't have a bad attitude...

I was out all day and found out about it after it was over but I sure enjoyed the notes Baldrick posted.
btw) I probably would have fallen in the trap but hoped it was a prank. I'm sure glad I didn't get to send my email -
I was reaching for my credit card, but then in my reflection in the monitor noticed the ice cream cone sticking out of my forehead.
-
Too bad for those who missed it. It was a work of art, meticulously crafted with loving skill. It hit its mark dead-on with its realism. I fell for it completely. I even sent a "my regrets" letter to the given email address.
Or maybe I just need to justify my gullibility with this lavish praise....Usually long gone and forgotten
