I'm running Windows XP and read the mention of it not containing an ASPI layer. I'm not sure what that is. Can anyone explain briefly what it is and possibly what I need to do to get it? Is it that important?

I just finished my XP upgrade last night and ripped Rush Hour 2 today. Initially when you boot up SmartRipper it'll tell you no aspi layer found. Just boot up your DVD player (Power DVD ,etc) to access the drive, then it worked like a charm.
Hope this helps.

but every computer needs a working ASPi layer or they cant rip CDs or burn CDs ..so jus email me if you still want it

<Spidey> my boy, you gotta have an ASPI Layer, it is the communication protocol between Windows and your devices, mainly the CDRW and CD/DVD drives (not to mention SCSI), if you do not have it, access will be "emulated" and therefor transfer will be much slower.
