  1. I am trying to burn a audio disc of some MP3 files. This I can normally do using Nero but for some strange reason I have a collection of about 12 songs that will not burn.

I have tried using Nero, Roxio which freeze up after a couple of seconds and Windows Media Player which said an error occured due to some missing codec?

I assumed I had all the codecs installed but if anyone can shed any light on this problem, it would be appreciated.

Funny you should mention this. I've burned MP3s direct to audio CDs before with no problem. But today, I made the attempt and some of them sounded scratchy. I went back to the MP3 files and they played fine. But, when I converted the MP3s to WAV files and burned the WAVs direct to audio CDs, they worked just fine.

I think newer versions of Nero, in some computers, handle the MP3 to WAV conversion process badly. And unless I can figure out another reason why this happened, I'll assume the fault lies with Nero ... and will always convert to WAV first from now on.

  3. Thanks for the reply. I'll convert to WAV first and then try again.

An old version of MusicMatch software from http://www.oldversion.com - but there are a number of free conversion utilities linkable from VideoHelp.com.
