I have a copy of Rocky that I wanted to back up so I used DVD Decrypter to decode it to my hard drive and DVDCopy 2 to burn it with my Sony DRU500A DVD burner. The problem is when I put it in my Sony RDR GX7 DVD player/recorder it only plays the first 8 seconds then stops. I have backed up several other movies using the same process and they all worked fine and have come off the same spindle of DVD +R's (Memorex). I have a few Memorex DVD+RW's so I decided to do some experimenting and found that if I select the option to burn just the Main Movie i DVDCopy it plays fine???? Question number 2; Every once in while I'll get a DVD that burns fine but 3/4's into the movie it quits playing. I understand that can be a media issue what I'm trying to find out is if there is any software that can verify the DVD copy so I don't have to watch the whole movie after I back it up?

Rip again with dvd decrypter and transcode with DVD Shrink. There both free. Try it. Ive never used that program that you have but it sounds like its crap.Try the ones it told you about and see how it works. Or try to play the movies on another DVD standalone player.
Life is like a pothole, you just have to learn to get around it. -
I agree to try ripping with DVD Decrypter and shrinking either the whole disk or just the movie (try both) with DVD Shrink -- many tutorials on how to do all this on this site.
With regards to the DVD that stops playing 3/4 of the way through. I had some cheap blank DVD+Rs that overheated. What would happen is about 60 mins into the film I'd get 'color flickering' and 'pausing' before it would just get stuck on one frame and stay there. I assumed the disk was damaged but later found that if I ejected the disk, turned the player off and let the disk cool down for 20-30 mins, the DVD would then play perfectly through the bit of the film that had the problems before -- disproving the damaged DVD theory. Then depending on the length of the film it would play to the end or it would overheat again forcing another 20-30 min cooling down period.
Try this with the problem DVDs, if the same thing happens to you, buy some decent blank DVDs -- since I've buying Ritec disks I've never had any problems playing or burning (not one coaster ever and 200+ burned). -
I'm beginning to think it was something with the way DVD-Decrypter ripped it. I've done several others since using the same process and same stack of DVD's and they have been fine. I wish there was a way to verify the contents witout having to watch the whole movie
