  1. i feel like taking a hammer to pc!
have had some problems with ram which was in other post, think i've fixed it but not sure.
when i run any app on pc for 10 mins or an hour or even 5 it eventually crashes.
    it just freeze's.
i also installed new graphics card recently, maybe that?
oh also stuck in new case fan too, oh and recently new psu too.
if ram was faulty would windows run at all?
is there anyway to check pc for faults?

For RAM, you can run Memtest86 http://www.memtest86.com/. For system checks, SiSandra, http://www.overclockersclub.com/downloadcenter/download.php?action=file&id=12

These may not find all faults, like overheating problems, but you may be able to monitor temps with other programs or in BIOS. Make sure you uninstall the old video card drivers before you install the new ones.

Checking Task Manager to see what is running also helps. If all else fails, try temporarily running in Safe Mode to eliminate most drivers and some programs from operating.

If you can eliminate hardware faults, then look at software problems.

Windows will definitely run with bad RAM, solved strange problems by replacing it. One MB I had seemed to fry RAM modules during long encoding. Got rid of the board. Never figured out if it was overheating the modules or something wrong with the MB. Memtest will usually show up bad RAM, but never guaranteed.
