I tried this at home, and the result was not up to my par. I tried a great tutorial at

and it worked pretty good. I think my limitations were cheap projector and only a so so camcorder. I need footage that is decent for my daughters wedding. I read this article about how the film decays and why you cannot stop it,

and decided to take the plunge. They allow free transfers as samples, they put a watermark on the footage. But it was real sharp good transfer. Fram by frame or something. The cost I paid was less than the cost a buddy athe hospital i work at paid 2 years ago. A lot cheaper. Check out
