  1. it seems LP mode has been added now to the HD04..

as taken from the ilo site.

    5. My recorder offers different recording speeds. Apart from allowing longer recording, what do these do? Will different speeds affect the quality of the recording?
The four speeds (HQ=1 hour; SP=2 hours; EP=4 hours; SLP=6 hours) inherent in the iLO DVDR04 model are associated with four different levels of stat transfer. As the recording time increases, the data transfer rate decrases and the quality will decrease. The recording speeds up to 4 hours are MPEG-2 quality with is equivalent to movies shown in the theaters. The SLP recording quality is similiar to VHS or often better, depending on the content being recorded. The Ilo DVDRHD04 model with the built-in hard disk drive has five recording speeds (HQ=17 hours; SP=34 hours; LP=51 hours; EP=68 hours; and SLP=96 hours)

so i gues we no longer need to use a hack for 3 hour mode correct or is this a glitch at ilohelp.com.

or did they finally add LP mode because of all the calls about 3 hour mode??

  2. This has been on their website from day one and also in the manual but had never been supplied in the recorder. The only way to get LP mode is via the hack.
