Interesting that Pioneer will allow playback of DVD+R/RW discs.

You mean they don't playback +R disks now? That's odd.... I could see not writing to them, but playing?

My Pioneer 420 plays back +R media, not sure about +RW media though. Although it'd probably play it back if bitset, if not in standard form.
