  1. Howdy - i'm wondering about the possibility of creating hinted mp4 files (for streaming purposes) using ffmpegX. I know that mp4creator from the mpeg4ip project can be used to hint mp4 files, but it's kind of a hassle because they don't consider the muxed mp4's that ffmpeg makes to be valid. Instead I have to take the output from ffmpeg, break it down to the elementary streams, then re-mux them using mp4creator and then hint it. Kind of a hassle... Any help?

  2. I had a plan about adding mpeg4ip in ffmpegX, however this should need some time as my to-do list is full of items.

  3. As an alternative, Major do you have any tips on getting elementary streams of m4v and aac from a straight ffmpeg mpeg4 (.mp4) encode? It looks like maybe ffmpeg can't generate a standalone AAC file, but perhaps I'm misreading the documentation. Any tips?

  4. I should check and make some tests. I could try to enable mpeg-4 demuxing in the demux tool.

  5. I suppose the biggest trick would just be getting ffmpeg to output a proper, compliant, mp4 wrapper. We can dream right?
