Please say this is a lie.

I dream of a system where in order to make a remake or TV2Moviethe stuidio must call me. Talk to me about it and convince me it should be done. Without my approval, no go. So many tears would be saved this way.

Here's a list of 1950's, 1960's and 1970's sitcoms and cartoons that should be released as features. These are all from my youth and they wouldn't be any worse than what's already been released in the last 5 years. The studios could clean up with all the material that's just sitting in a dusty studio archive room :

    My Mother The Car
    Speed Racer Cartoon
Clutch Cargo (tgpo could do this one)
Ozzie And Harriet (of course a different Ozzie and Harriet, and kids ...)
    Donna Reed - The Movie
Father Knows Best - The Movie
    December Bride
    Bachelor Father
    Hawaiian Eye
    77 Sunset Strip
    That's My Mama
    Captain Kangaroo
    Tom And Jerry
    Bullwinkle The Moose
    Yogi Bear (and Boo Boo)

What about it Hollywood? Maybe a little kickback to Capmaster for the suggestion? 8)

  16. OK, OK lets see if can get your heads around it

Its set in present day LA and a real Witch named Isabel (Kidman) comes to live in the mortal world and meets actor Jack Wyatt (Farrell) who asks her to play Samantha in the TV-remake of Bewitched he is due to star in (him as Darrin)

apart from when there filming 'Bewitched' it's a Sleepless In Seatle style romantic comedy between Jack & Isabel. Shirley Maclaine plays 'Iris' and actress who plays Endora on the tv show within the movie

    You get the picture???

I think they let a good idea get away. I still remember all the figures from history dropping by the Stevenses: Caesar reading in the encyclopedia about his fate rushing down to City Hall to have the story about him removed. Da Vinci inventing a toothpaste for kids, Willy Mays stopping by for a drink before teleporting himself to the ball park. Darrin asking Samantha, Is he really..?" and Samantha answering, "The way he hits home runs, are you kidding?" Oh well, that's Hollywood for you. Think I'll wait another ten years, too.

Im a hardcore, how do you think I feel Tho its 50/50 between us hardcores. Half like it, the other half Detest it

the orginal concept, and scprit (ive read that aswell) was sort of prequel to the show and I loved that one thought it was brillant. But Nora Ephon (Sleepless In Seattle / You've Got Mail) came forward with her 'orginal 'concept and they went with her idea

The 1st scprit that got accepted then thrown out would of been almost orgasmic for me to watch on screen

Hey Jumbo - Are you old enough to remember the original series run? I'm just wondering if you watched it to see Liz or if you started up later.

It was a good show ....very clever, and the nosy neighbor (Gladys Kravetz?) was brilliantly played.

I might end up seeing it just out of curiosity ...just to see what the fuss is about. That's the only reason I saw several movies ....some were pleasant surprises, and some just reinforced my original prejudices

  25. kind of ironic that the show Bewitched was a take off of a much older movie, I married A Witch

These type of movies aren't the sort of thing I get into - I don't think I've seen any of the movie parodies they started doing in last ten years or so.
They're ok in a comedy skit, but a full-length movie just doesn't work for me.

They don't even do decent remakes of older movies - the new version of
Stepford Wives was a very bad idea :P

They had a few hideous made for TV spinoffs of that as well.

Nope becuase I'm only 21. Im just out to prove that only a few very open minded people will like the movie

Im hoping to god, the attitude will be ''why could'nt it be a direct remake" when its released, and that it might encorage them to try it again

I remember that movie as well. The drunken father in law was a riot. I think he ended up being locked inside a bottle of booze, happier than a dead pig in the sunshine.

I guess I read the tone of your posts wrong then. It sounded to me like you were advocating the movie. Actually some posts did and others didn't

So you don't like it and are telling us you don't recommend it?
