  1. I Just purchased a (3) Pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL (I thought they were double sided - been out of touch for a while ).

I used my LG 4163 DVD Writer and Clone DVD2 with ANYDVD to make a DVD Image of a DVD.

Now as I said before I've been out of touch lately and made 4.5 GIG iso image of the original DVD. I opened up the Verbatim DVD+R DL (still thinking it was double sided) and saw that it was not .

So I decided to burn the image to the Verbatim DVD+R DL, kind of a waste of space, but I figured at least I can test my Pioneer DV 270 Player in the process

Well I popped in the Verbatim DVD+R DL in my Pioneer DV 270 Player and I got a "No Disk" error .

From all I have read on this site and others, the LG 4163 DVD writer can burn DVD+R DL and Pioneer DV 270 Player can play them.

I should mention it played in my 12x Toshiba DVD player in my PC with out a problem.

I've been doing the same DVD to DVR procedure for months with Verbatim DVD-R's and no coasters yet.

I'll also mention that when I did the Burn my firmware on the LG 4163 DVD writer was "A101" last night I flashed it up to "A103".

So where'd I go wrong, Bad Media, Bad Burn, Setting in the Pioneer need to be changed???

Any clues would be helpful and save me money TIA

did you set the booktype to DVD-ROM?

that is a bit pecuilar that you created an iso of a single layer disc and burned it to a dual layer disc.

i've got a pioneer dv-270 and it plays the 2 dual layer DVD+r's i've got just fine.. but the book type absolutely must be set to DVD-ROM.. there arent many dvd players that will play them without doing that.

  3. When you say "Book type", is this a setting in the Pioneer player?

if not I'll have to check to see if Clone DVD has this setting,

I agree, I haven't been paying attetion to the latest DVD media additions and thought it was 3 pack of Double sided disks.

  5. Well that was eye opening, I'm not sure if that can be accomplised Via Clonedvd2, I read that it needs to be in a firmware change, I did find info about Bin something utility to flash a DVD writer with, but my LG isn't among the select few on the list. Any body have a solution?

i would highly reccomend trying it with a dvd+r before trying it with a dvd+r DL.
