    Hi everyone,
    I want to buy dvd's from the U.K which are region 2 and make a copy of them for my backup library.My Sony
    dvd rom DDU-1621 has only two more region changes left on
    it.Is there any way to change the region code again, after I have used up the alloted number of changes?
    In other words,can I hack the dvd-rom to be region free or to at least
    go back to allowing me six more changes of the region?
    I do realize that these dvd 's will be in the pal format but that is not a problem.

    P.S I have a dvd player that will play region 2 pal formatted discs.

    You dont need to set a region to back up a DVD,Look in the tools section there are tools/Software to make the DVD-burner region free.
