Recently bought one of these recorders, fantastic recordings have been made and overall am very happy with it. I use dvd-ram to record normally at SP or XP quality.
What i want to do is transfer certain recordings made on dvd-ram to a dvd-r (or +r). To allow me to reuse the RAMs.
My pc will read the DVD-RAM vro file and cyberlink power producer will save this to hard disc as VOB. Have also tried to copy the vro file and rename extension to MPG. I use dvd-lab to create my menus etc and import the vob or mpg (which imports as elementary streams). After buring this to DVD-R (or+R), the playback on the JVC drops out the audio every 2 seconds for about half a second. It also seems to cause a slight glitch in any motion at the point the sound drops out.
Has anyone else experienced this? Seems strange that the JVC will not play its own content (albeit on a different disc) - Please note though that another DVD player plays the created disc perfectly.
Have tried demultiplexing the vob from the JVC using TMPGenc option that shows up four streams -the video, audio and two rather large padding streams - how important are these streams?
Note recorder is PAL as is target authored DVD.
