    can somone help me for some odd reasson my windows media player v10 wont play .mpeg2 files and was wondering what good program i could use beside powerdvd to play my mpeg2 files because powerdvd shutdowns and gives me a error after a while of playing the file.

    WMD doesn't play MPEG-2 natively. You need the codec. That can come from a PowerDVD install. Or you can find one to the left. <<< Apparently has to do with copywrite issues.

    Just my opinion, but WMD sucks with about everthing it does. There are a lot of free alternatives that work much better.
