Merging Pics together in Word - Possible?

I'm kind of up to a little project, anyways, I inserted 2 pics into my word document and was wondering if I can merge them together.

For some reason when I was younger I couldve swore you could merge the 2 into one big one for resizing purposes of fitting the page. I would like to do it in Word instead of paint or any image-editing programs just to save time.

Any idea guys?

I dnot't do much of this stuff, but yes you can. There is a tool of some kind to make pic transparant.

Helpted daughter do one of soccor team that came out nice but final file was 20mb. 12 high res digital stills used
