  1. i was doing a bit of encoding today. left pc on took son to school. when i came back pc was as dead as a dodo.
    any ideas?

  4. was PSU.
    thank god thats all it was i was sweating.
    i took PSU out of kids pc tried that and it worked.
    so i've taken that back out and put new one in.
    the only thing is i'm not sure where leads go back!
    the one i'm confused with is CD1 does a power lead go in there?

  5. Your IDE devices plug into the most common lead from the PSU, the 4 pin connector. The floppy has a smaller connection and the motherboard has a massive connection, you can't really confuse that one.

  6. i've got all the main ones plugged in but i'm kind of sure one of the small ones was plugged into the MOBO.
    both pc's are working fine so i think i'll leave it as it is.

    You might have to connect the square connector.



    edit..... I just noticed you said the PC is working fine!

    Oh well, maybe somebody else can use the picture!
